Strategic Intelligence is dedicated to making a difference for corporations and individuals in understanding their true value and differentiating themselves in the market place. Ms. Nancy Swain and Mr. Johan Sarkinen are the founders and have over 50 years of senior management and entrepreneurial experience in a wide range of businesses and industries. Both have been successful executives and leaders, have created new products and services, and both became unemployed and have personally experienced job change, stress, and starting anew. WE GET IT!

  Nancy Swain

Nancy Swain brings 20+ years of extensive diverse experience in counseling, public speaking, education, training, sales, and career transition coaching. Nancy holds a B.S. degree in Business and a M.A. Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Western Kentucky University. Nancy was an instructor at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX from 1998 through 2003 teaching Career Management, Organizational Change, Human Resources Administration, and Business Communications.

She has facilitated career transition workshops and provided executive leadership coaching for multiple corporations in all industries ranging from privately held to Fortune 15. During her career Nancy had a private counseling practice, and was founder of two successful consulting firms designed to improve personal and professional competencies. Nancy has developed and facilitated a broad range of customized training and development programs for various business and industry enterprises such as: Voluntary Hospitals of America, Kinetic Concepts, GTE, AT&T, Kodak, Unysis, Lincoln Properties, Owens and Minor, IMCO, SKB, Right Management Inc, Abbott Laboratories, Scott Paper, Dallas Community Colleges, K.D. Modeling Studios, Cardinal Health, Time Warner, The MED Group, Sabre, Motorola, Hire Heroes USA, Staff Care, StratCenter and Right Management.

Her career includes developing and directing from start up, a Counseling and Career Center for Clarke College of Iowa, authoring the career management class for the Cox School of Business at SMU, and authoring the partnership selling course for Hewlett Packard.

Nancy created and implemented customized field sales training programs and performance measurement tools for VHA Supply Company, and the telesales division resulting in a ROI of 10 to 1 with an annual sales goal of $2.4 Billion. She also held the position of Southwest Sales Manager for Cardinal Health, a $60B global provider of healthcare services, and founded the telesales and member services division of The MED Group in conjunction with a 4-year contract to increase GPO membership by 50% in the DME market. Formerly a professional member of the National Speakers Association, Nancy has served as a faculty member at national conferences with such prestigious names as Paul Harvey, Steve Allen Jr., Sander Vanocur, Charles Garfield, and Roger Dow.

She is currently a member of Who's Who Among College Presenters, and a former member of the American Association of Mental Health Counselors, the International Association of Career Management Professionals, and the National Society of Sales Training Executives.

Johan Sarkinen

Johan Sarkinen's background includes starting and managing small businesses, nationally and internationally, in Europe, US, and the South Pacific, operations within large international companies, business development, project management, product management, and information technology.

Originally from Sweden, he sometimes describes himself as "bought and brought" - got an offer he couldn't refuse which included moving to the U.S. and (eventually) becoming a citizen.

He has a hands-on approach with strengths in information technology, research, analysis, creating the business plan and go to market strategy. A visionary with an entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of successful start-ups and obtaining venture capital to turn inventive technological ideas into products and business opportunities. He has also led international efforts in product development, strategies, standardization efforts, and has authored and presented papers at conferences in Europe and the U.S.

Johan's education include a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Luleå in Sweden, MBA course works at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), and executive continued education in product management from the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Wisconsin. He is also an adjunct faculty member and advisor at Richland College in Dallas, Texas.

Johan is a Project Management Professional (PMP®) certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI), a Senior IEEE Member, and a proud member of FBI's InfraGard program.
